“ROCK and ROLL IT OUT at the 2008 IRT Motorola Pro Nationals presented by Verizon Wireless Preview
The Motorola IRT Pro National and USAR Adult Regional Championship presented by Verizon Wireless is coming to the Schaumburg Illinois April 23-27th. The event will feature the new all Lucite “made for TV” stadium court and will be broadcast live on ESPN360.com as well as a delayed telecast on The Tennis Channel. This is the sport’s third “Grand Slam” event of the season and will feature over 75 of the top men’s professional players in the world. The event will also showcase the fast pace game of doubles as the IRT professionals will team up for a pro doubles division. The event will be part of the USAR Regional series offering all skill and age divisions for every level of player as well as junior divisions. For all those looking for a really racquetball challenge this is the event to play in.
The event will feature a Rock and Roll theme with all the partying that you would expect from an event in Chicago. Come and party like a Rock Star with the pro’s on Saturday night of the event. Rock hard with local entertainment at the Rock n Roll It Out party Friday night at STP! Come and witness the thundering bass and laser light show on the main stadium court as your IRT superstars get ready to rock your socks off. This is one event you will not want to miss!
This event will benefit the JDRF Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. The event raised over $8000 last year and we expect to rise more this year with your help. Make a $500 donation to the JDRF and have the opportunity to play with one of the top 14 players in the world on Wednesday evening at the IRT Charity Pro am beginning at 5:30pm. Your donations will be welcome at the pro am as well as with the silent auction. In addition to the JDRF the event will also support Prevent Child Abuse America nd the Hopeline.
The IRT matches will be interesting this year as the race for the year end number one ranking could very well be determined at this event. Jack Huczek and Rocky Carson have been battling all year as Jack has held on to the number one ranking this season. Huczek was in the winners circle here last year. Rocky has had the upper hand in the grand slam events taking the Motorola World Championship and the Choice Hotels US OPEN and will be looking to make it a clean sweep of this seasons IRT grand slam series. Jason Mannino is lying in the weeds quietly and could very well be in the winners circle for this event. Mexico’s superstar, Alvaro Beltran has been playing stellar ball but has not found the big shot when he needs to win his first major IRT event. Maybe it will come here. He did make the final in the season’s first grand slam event in Colorado. Shane Vanderson, he has all the potential to make some noise at this event and has always preformed well on the big stage. Southpaw mitch Williams has taken Cliff Swains spot as the hardest hitter on the tour and will be brining the heat to Chicago this year.Chicagoan Ben Croft is living up to his 2007 rookie of the year potential and has made huge strides this season with his game upsetting some of the big names.
